Slow files access from W2K Pro to W2K Pro

I have a small network that uses a combination of Win98,
W2K Pro, and W2K Server. The W2K Server uses for
accounting. One of the W2K Pro keeps a folder that
contains 7,000 TIF files (in the root of the folder). All
Win98's computers and the W2K Server accessing the shared
folder very quickly no problem (3 - 5 Sec.), but the W2K
Pro PC's have to wait about 25 seconds to be able to
browse files. Can any one help? Thanks!
