HI!
Slipstreaming service packs or hotfixes into the win2k
installation cd is ok for me. but is there a way to
slipstream other microsoft components like Internet
Explorer6 or DirectX9? If not, is there a way to make the
w2k setup install these components after the installation
automatically?

thanks

DirectX9 is fiddly, but DirectX8 is easy.

I think both are documented at www.appdeploy.com

If not, I can tell you how to do the IE6 one.

I'll add to that that these methods are not "slipstreaming", as you wouldn't
be integrating the software into the i386 directory. You'd be scripting
their installation after Windows has finished installing.

could you show me how to launch a setup after installation?
(couldn't find a resource on appdeploy)

1 more q: how to include new or updated drivers so that
the w2k setup will auto install them for me if it detects
the devices?

I've documented all this at www.willowhayes.co.uk/windows2000

I'm away for a few days now. Will be back Wednesday to answer any more
questions you may have.
