Anybody got any ideas why we cannot receive itv2 now through our
sky tv receiver,we do not subscribe to sky any more but were able to pick
up itv 2 until about 2 months ago, when we select itv 2 a banner comes up
that says there are technical problems with that channel

At a rough guess I'd say it's cos you cancelled your subscription and Sky just figured it out

Even if you cancel your sky subscription you should be able to recieve the free channels...

ITV2 is a free to view channel, (as opposed to free to air) and needs an FTV card... confused?

This maybe a long shot. but have you tried turning off the box and unplugging it for a bit and then plugging it back in and letting it reboot? This can solve a lot of little niggles. Dunno if it'll help though...

You could also try the digital spy forum, those guys know their stuff when it comes to this sort of thing.

I am sure its a free to air channel though.
