Hi all!

In order to execute Silverlight 2 Beta applications on a browser,
along with its runtime the .NET Framework must be installed on the
machine too ? And, what version?

The Silverlight plugin installs it's own version of the framework.

MS has purposely made a "mini clr" so it would have a small (and standalone)
download/install.
