Howdy, When I try to use Windows 2000 Update, it fails with the error 0x80246008. That tells me that the BITS (Background Intelligent Transfer Service) was not started. It is set to Automatic. When I attempt to start it manually, I get the error 2147024894. I have looked for that one in the MSKB, but none of the hits seem relevant to my situation. Might you assist? Thanks for any help on this, -- Kenneth If you email... Please remove the "SPAMLESS." |

(and, I will add, I have worked on this one for about a month.) The solution was to create a new reg key: HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\BackupRestore\FilesNotToBackup With sincere regret, I cannot point to the source, but it certainly might help others. All the best, -- Kenneth If you email... Please remove the "SPAMLESS." |
