As I believe has already been mentioned, this *could* be a driver issue, so you may want to
make sure you have all the latest drivers for all the audio and video devices either from
your OEM (aka Dell, Gateway, etc.), WindowsUpdate (
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com), or
direct from the manufacturers (
http://www.logitech.com,
http://www.soundblaster.com, etc.).
If you still encounter further problems, you might want to try Yahoo Messenger as an
equivalent.
