Straight out of the box my hp a1710n has shared irq's. I know in previous
versions of windows this was not a good thing. Should I change these?

If all the hardware devices seem to be working properly then leave it
alone! You can only cause trouble. IRQ's are a finite resource and
some sharing is inevitable on modern machines with many devices.

IRQ sharing is as designed, and completely normal in the NT family of
operating systems. It is not uncommon to see five, and sometimes up to
seven, devices sharing an IRQ line. As I said, this is completely normal
and not harmful.

Don't mess with the IRQ allocations.

With MCE2005 there were many reports of video dropped frames and stuttering
problems when watching LIVE TV when the systems graphics card and TV tuner
card shared the same IRQ. This was apparently caused by both cards not
being able to have their I/O delayed in order to keep the TV program running
in real time.

Shared IRQ's used to be a problem a decade ago (Windows 9x, Windows ME)
Shouldn't be an issue now.
