Firewalls off on both machines.
I thought I knew this stuff. It used to work well.
I was wrong.

KINGDOM Workgroup with two computers:
KING-DADDY (Windows XP Home 192.168.1.51)
Firewall turned off (Windows Live OneCare)

Pauper (Windows 2000 PRO (192.168.1.4)
Firewall turned off (Kerio)

Connected via Linksys router

I Can ping each other in both directions.

I Can Net Use * successfully from Pauper to King-daddy.

Running Network Wizard on King-Daddy does not change any symptoms.

When King-Daddy try to see Pauper in Network Neighborhood, it produces this message:
\\Pauper is not accessible. You might not have permission to use the network resource. Contact the administrator....

Windows cannot find the network path. Verify.... etc

Suspend this thread.
I don't know what's hosed yet, but I have a handle on pursuing it.

I killed some idle processes on pauper and cleared the problem. Now I will wait until the problem shows up again and
gather more information.

Your symptoms may be similar, but you will need to start you own thread, and
provide some diagnostics, so we can help you effectively.

Look at your network, and your problem. Not somebody else's.
