Can anybody please tell me how caould I set the security
permission for registry keys in windows 2000 Server for
ODBC.

I have had an error message as follows:

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers
error '80004005'

Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver]General error
Unable to open registry key 'Temporary (volatile) Jet DSN
for process 0x974 Thread 0x940 DBC 0x3020064 Jet'.

/starjobs/includefiles/connection.inc, line 12

I have solve this problem in Windows XP as I have had the
Permission option in registry editor, but haven't in the
Windows 2000 Server.

Regards

Jahid

In Windows 2000 there are two supplied registry tools: regedit.exe
and regedt32.exe. You want to use tha later for registry ACL changes
and some other tasks. In XP those tools were combined as I hear it.

OP:
I have solve this problem in Windows XP as I have had the
Permission option in registry editor, but haven't in the
Windows 2000 Server.

What problem? OP said registry ACLs modifiable with regedit.exe in XP
and I said use regedt32.exe in W2K to the same task.

Beyond that, I have nothing specific to say about ODBC.

Perhaps you are asking of the OP about specifics.
