I have successfully used rundll32 printui.dll,PrintUIEntry to install
printers on per-machine basis rather than a per user basis, works great.

Although a /y switch is available to set the default printer, this appears
to only work on a per-user rather than a per-machine basis. I would like to
set the default printer on a machine basis, anybody have any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Brendon

Default printer is user based. See tip 672 in the 'Tips & Tricks' at
http://www.jsiinc.com

You can set the .default profile for new users.

If profiles are local, you can update all the local profiles.
