SerialPort used on COM2 IR problem for Windows Mobile

Hi,

Im programming a PDA to replace an older unit, which uses IR to control some
3rd party devices. Protocol is not Irda but just bytes sent over the IR
connection. The PDA is running Windows Mobile 5.0 Phone Edition, Development
is done in Visual Studio 2005 standard edition, PDA is Intermec CN3 with
built in IR.

So far we can read data from the 3rd party devices and from the older unit
to be replaced. For some reason we cannot write data. The older unit shows FF
bytes, when port is opened and closed, but data written to the write buffer
disappears, the buffer goes to 0, but no data reaches the IR port.

DTREnabled and CTSEnable are true, we have tried with various combinations,
we have tried waiting for the RTS,DCD,DSR signals, but nothing helps.

So we are in a situation where baudrate, stopbits etc. looks like they are
setup fine, but we can only receive on the IR port. FF is sent when we open
and close the port otherwise nothing.

Has anyone seen this problem, does anyone know of a solution to this problem?

We're evaluating the Intermec CN3 and are having the same problem.

Have you solved it?

One of my end users is having the EXACT same issue with IR communication on
the Intermec CN3. Has anyone else had any luck resolving this?

Thanks in advance,
