Serialize ListItems

I have a class I created that I need to serialize using binary
serialization. I have marked the class as serializable and I'm able to
serialize it succesfully; however, I do have a problem with some of the
properties. Some of the properties of my class are ArrayLists that contain
ListItems. Apparantly ListItems are not serializable. Is there any way to
serialize an object like this using System.Runtime.Serialization, or am I
stuck taking a different approach? Thanks for the help!
