Hi, i have recently taken over what was a very highly secured database. We
have now set the permissions to a more acceptable level, and I am now able
to create new tables, queries. However if i go to create a form or a
report, I am being told that i dont have exclusive use of the database and
changes wont be saved. However, I am the only person in the database at
this time.

can someone trell me what I am doing wrong

thanks
Alex

Firstly I AM NO Access expert, so don't bother with any follow up questions

However this sounds easy - open Access, do a File Open, navigate to the dir,
select yourdb.mdb, and in the pull down menu by open, choose Open Exclusive.

This works on our Access 2000 anyway....

Obviously nobody else can be in the db at the time

It's possible that Access THINKS there is another user in the database.
Close the database and then check the folder where it is stored to see if
there is a file with the same name as the database but with a .ldb
extension. If there is, delete it and try again.
