Securing access to removable media

Hi group,

I am trying to find a solution to allow an administrator to selectively
assign permissions to the floppy drive or other removable media. For
example, I would like certain users to be able to read/write from the
floppy/cdrom, but they cannot execute anything from that media.
Floplock.exe and Lockdrives.exe don't allow me to restrict users from
running executables from the floppy/cdrom. Has anyone run into this before?

thanks in advance
-Russ

in Computer Management->Removable Storage->Properties->Security you can set
security options for all removable media. But as I was told, it is all or
nothing in that you can't differentiate between a floppy, cd rom and other
removable media. You can differentiate which users have which access to the
removable media though.

Have a look at http://www.securewave.com/products/

Check out SecureNT, this is a 3rd Party product that may do what you are
requesting.

I am currently looking at evaluating it for my organisiation.
