Hope somebody can help. I have a 15" flat screen Samsung Monitor, and it
appears to be working perfectly. When switching the PC on, the screen
displays in the usual `correct' manner ie. horizontal layout. As soon as the
Desktop appears, suddenly my screen turns to the left and displays as
horizontal. I am wondering whether an option has become ticked somewhere - or
if not, does anyone know what this problem is. I don't think it's a screen
problem, but possibly a setting inside Accessibility Features. Help???

Go into the Display in Control Pane, go to the settings tab, click the
advanced button and go through the next tabs for possible controls that
might resolve this issue. If it is not controlled by monitor's controls, it
probably something controlled by the drivers for the graphics card.

Not sure what you mean by "Suddenly my screen turns to the left and displays
as horizontal."

My Samsung LCD came with pivot software that allows me to rotate the image.
You should have the same as a tab in display properties.
