Scheduled CHKDSK /F disables USB Drive

Posts: n/a

I have an Apricorn 40 GB HD attached to Windows XPe via a Belkin FU220 4 port
USB 2.0 card with the default windows driver installed. When a CHKDSK /F C:
is scheduled and executes after the reboot, the external USB drive is not
enabled in the Device Manager. The error code is 39 on the USB Mass Storage

I have see other posts regarding the same issue with a USB mouse, any idea
what's causing this?

I have the updated Belkin Driver which solves the problem, but would like to
understand what's causing this to justify changing the drivers.
