Sandisk, in it's infinite wisdom, didn't include any way to attach
their Cruzer Mini drives to something like a keychain (the lanyard
doesn't count). I've seen some references to drilling a hole in the
Micro version, but the Minis have that LED on the end, and I'm afraid
of damaging something.

I'll pry the case open to look only as a last resort. Does anyone know
if it is safe to drill through the Mini? If so, where?

Why not glue on something to attach it instead? Drilling is a
very high risk. Even if you do not damage anything direclty,
you could expose delicate, formerly sealed, electronics to
environmental inlfuences like oxygen, moisture, etc. and
damage it that way.

I have a Cruzer mini with two holes on the one side.
All I did is pull a thread to go thru the two holes.

The divider between those two holes is a cheap bit of unreinforced
plastic. In the process of trying to thread the @#$%^&lanyard with my
fat fingers, it broke almost immediately. Hence my comment that the
lanyard (or other thread solutions) wasn't a real option.

Thanks, dude. Never saw the holes was my holdup. Took me two minutes to
lace and tie to the Mini and the lanyard. Applied butane lighter to knots
briefly. The line has a transparent nylon core. Working back the black
sheath on the line and exposing this core made it easy to thread through.
