Hmmm...

The Denon AVR 1709 receiver might not even have a graphical user
interface...

Nor does it do hdmi audio decoding on the hdmi outputs...

Also it's remote is said to be difficult.

The manual is difficult.

Setup might therefore be difficult.

So it has some clear drawbacks.

1. Drawbacks for now.

2. Drawbacks for the future if I ever wanted to connect PS3, Big Screen tv's
or whatever...

Suppose I die in an accident or whatever then maybe my family could use
it... but they won't be happy if it has all these drawbacks... hmmm...

Bottom line is I plan to use it myself mostly for audio... but I was kinda
hoping to play around with the settings as well...

I kinda like that...

So now not being able to use a graphical interface while my monitor does
have plenty of options could seem a bit like a drawback...

Hmmmm...

Bye,
Skybuck.

Well the harmon kardon avr 355 receiver says in specifications it only has 6
analog inputs so that might not be a good choice... furthermore the options
in harmon kardon seem kinda limited... (so I am sticking with denon)

Also do I really want to have cables sticking outside the back of my monitor
on the left side... I probably won't see them...

However I probably also would not see the receiver lcd screen since I was
planning to put it on the right side of the computer out of my way...
operating it from that distance might become problematic...

I could also place it on my table but then I have to bend my neck and break
me fricking neck hehe.

Then again with the gigaworks it had nothing but I also played a bit with
settings there from time to time... but I guess the receiver would do to
play with it from time to time...

I can already feel the neck burn I would get with this device hehe.

But it seems I have little choice... the gui versions seem waaaayyy to
expensive... and maybe the gui quality wouldn't even be that great.. some
reviewer even said the gui crashed and that sux...

This gonna be my first ever receiver... so maybe it's smart to get a cheap
one for now and first see how things work out and if I like it at all
sound-wise mostly. and quality wise... will it last long ? Not much use
to buy an expensive device if it won't last long... and store might go broke
as well... so I am not gonna burn a hole in my pocket for now
600 bucks/euros is already plenty !

Bye,
Skybuck.

Well connecting the P3 to my television did somehow screw up channel 14...

I tried to restore channel 14 and now my complete TV screwed up ?!

^ Stupid television !

I might as well do another little experiment with the P3 to see how good the
signal and screen can be on a television !

Bye,
Skybuck.
