I'm not impressed with the ability to write to a CD-RW using the DLA format.
I'm not sure if this is the proper ng for this issue.
It seems that every time I want to drag something to my CD-RW, I get an
error message telling me that it cant read the source. Of course that is a
bogus error (since that is my HD). Anyway, it seems that I can copy drag
only 1-item, then after that the error appears. So I end up coping the
entire CD to my HD, reformatting the CD then copying everything back to my
CD (with the updated info).

It really sucks. I keep CD-RW with the DLA format available so I can
continuously update small apps and utilities to the CD.

Any idea what the issues are. Is this a worthless task to expect to drag
updated files to a CD using the DLA format.

Thanks (let me know if there is a better ng).

The Roxio User Forum is a better venue for your issue, since it's not a
Windows XP problem.

However, and FWIW, no one should be impressed with DLA (aka packet
writing), as it's an unreliable method for recording on optical media.
Convenient, possibly, but something of a crapshoot.

This topic has been rather well discussed over the years, so I think
you'll find plenty of details in the Roxio knowledge base and user
forums, to say nothing of the internet.

Just as a follow-up
All forums seem to agree that All of the Packet Writing Programs are
worthless and should be uninstalled. It is better to just copy to CD (or
CD-RW) and just leave the session open so you can continually add items to
the CD. This is what I've been doing anyway.
