Return ADODB.Recordset from .NET

I want to have a client call new objects in .NET.
I read this article
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=316337

that explains how to do this by converting to XML, then transforming to
a ADODB.Recordset. The only problem is that with more than 100 records
this gets slow.

Has anyone seen a better implementation of this (in memory
transformation)?

Luis
