I've just tried to do restore in windows vista after replacing a corrupt disk
that I bought from Dell. I was very happy to see that it is a nice backup
feature in Vista and hoped to have everything back to normal quickly after
the replacement.
I've made two discoveries that has made me so g** da** m**!
The first one is not the badest. After I installed Vista on the new disk
(which is in raid 0 with another 500 gig) the backup program said that I had
to do a backup before I could restore anything. But I HAD a backup from my
previous installation. I therefore made a backup and replaced the files so I
could make a restore.
After restoring the files a lot of errors occured I I opened Outlook to see
if all my mails where there, but NO!! Outlook was corrupted. Outlook.pst was
not working. In the backup files outlook.pst was only 2mb. I tried to use
scanpst.exe with no help. So I guess I've lost all my mails now due to the
bad backup feature in Vista!!!!
Kind regard,
