Is there a way to "rename" categories in your Outlook contacts? For example,
if the category were "2003 Auditors" and your wanted to make that "2005
auditors", can you do this and have it track through?

Group by category. Select all in 2003 Auditors. Right-click, choose Categories. Remove 2003 Auditors and add 2005 Auditors.

No. You can't rename categories. Sorry. You'd have to create a new category.

I believe this will work for you!

The first thing you need to do is create the "2005 auditors" catagory.
EDIT - CATAGORY - Master Catagory List - "new catagory name" and ADD

Once you have created the new catagory you need to bring up all the contacts
that are in the Catagory that you want to change:
VIEW - ARRANGE BY - CATAGORIES

This will list all your contacts by Catagory. Select all the contacts in
this catagory by selecting the first one and "SHIFT" DOWN ARROW until all the
appropriate records are selected.

Once the records are selected you go to EDIT - CATAGORIES and check the new
"2005 auditors" catagory that you created and un-check the "2003 auditors"
catagory.

This should do it!

I would love to hear if this worked for you!

You can IM me @ jimr9!

Good luck!
