Remove record lock

Hi - I am using Access 2003. I created a database for two people to work in
it at the same time, to enter all information (sometimes in the same form)
but not to change the design.

All of a sudden the last two days, when one of us opens it, the other
receives a message that the database is locked. No one ever locked it. We
also noticed when the database is open another file is open with an "ldb"
extension and a lock in the icon.

How do I remove this lock and set the database so the both of us can work in
it at the same time? Thanks.

The ldb file is the record locking file and its appearance is normal. You
will often run into trouble when two or more users share the same mdb file,
so try splitting the database and giving each user their own front end file.
