Remote Assistance

I have connected to several friends using Remote Assistance. The
connection is always successful from my computer to theirs. They are
always able to access my computer. However in reverse, I have NEVER
been able to access their computers. When I open the email attachment,
I get a dialog box telling me that the sender could not be verified and
the connection cannot complete.

I have made certain that Firewalls have been temporarily disabled in
order to accomplish this.

I have also checked My Computer/Properties/Remote to be sure that the
setting "Allow Remote Assistance to be sent from my computer" is
checked on both ends of the transaction.

I have not been able to determine why they can open and receive my
invitation to Remote Assistance but I am unable EVER to access someone
else scomputer even though we are setting it up properly. I am
wondering if it is some security measure of which I am not aware.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

AJH

Offhand I don't know the particular reason and am not that familiar with
Remote Assistance as I use Remote Desktop. However if you have not seen the
links below before they may be worth going over to see if you missed a step
or not. If you are using an internet router to protect your network you
might try to port forward port 3389 TCP to your computer if not doing such
already. If you have another computer on your network you might also try
connecting that way to see if the problem is related to doing such over the
internet. --- Steve
