Reinstalling XP

I have recently formatted my harddisk. When I reinstalled Windows XP, it
automatically made two drives (c (very small) and D). Now, how do I change
that so I only have one drive?

When reinstalling, XP also made two Windows directories (Windows mand
Windows0). How do I change that, so I only have one Windows directory?

When I start various programs, my diskdrive A (the diskette-drive) growls
like an animal. What cvan be the problem?

Yours faithfully,

Niels J.N.
