I started receiving this message a couple of days ago when
trying to troubleshoot my DVD drive and DVD burner. These
are no longer recognized by Windows. The message II see
is tha the registry may be corrupt code (19). I tried
uninstalling and reinstalling the drives to no avail.

In devise manager I see the yellow exclamation next to the
devices, but can find no conflicts.

Any suggestions?

The registry on a PC I'm trying to fix looks like this:

> Upper: Cdralw2k
> Lower: Cdr4_2k _,hdw_drives.htm ller

The registry on a functional PC (with the exact same OS and CD drive
installed, btw - I found the one closest to this one's configuration)
looks like this:

> Upper: Cdralw2k
> Lower: Cdr4_2k _,hdw_drives.htm ller

Exactly like that. Is this the reason I can't get the blasted thing to
work, and should I follow the steps outlined above in Microshaft's
post?
