I was hiot with a virus that disabled 3 of my functions, the Registry Editor,
Display, and Task Manager. I tried to find gpedit and it is not on my
computer. Any suggestions as to how I can get into the Editor so I can
correct the changes that have been made?

Goto the following link:

http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm
Line No. 35 - Left Hand Side

Also you can check Line No. 51 - Right hand side - "Enable the Taskmanager".

You didn't specify that the Display tab is missing in Display Properties or
the entire Display icon is missing from Control Panel. For missing Display
tab:

Line No. 285 - Right Hand side - Restore All Display Tabs

Hope this help, let us know!

Why does Task Manager, MSCONFIG, or REGEDIT disappear while opening?
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/ToolsQuit.htm

Gpedit.msc is only on Wndows XP Pro not Windows XP Home
