In the Recycle Bin there is a setting that allows you to view the
combined MBs of deleted items. I've forgotten/lost this setting, any
help to find/enable it would be appreciated.

Check that the status bar is enabled: View> Status Bar.

In addition to the suggestion given by 'Sharon F' to set Windows Explorer to "show the status bar",
select all the files in the Recycle Bin, and view the total size that appears in the second section
of the status bar....

If you set Windows Explorer to "Show common tasks in folders", set the Task Pane section to show
Details, and then select all the files in the Recycle Bin, the total size appears next to the item
titled: Total File Size.

For more information search the Windows XP Professional Help and Support Center for the words in
double-quotes and read the topics.
