Hello,

I am trying to use HPs recovery disk to create an
additional partition on my disk (sata maxtor 250gb).

The recovery program limits the maximum size of the new
partition to different numbers, ranging from 34Gb to
105Gb, on different attempts. It gives this number
independent of the type of partition (primary or
extended) or the file system (ntfs or other) I specify.

XP computer management report the disk size and 'standard
partition' sizes correctly.

Any ideas / suggestions on what might be causing this
strange behavious by the recovery utility?

Thanks in advance,
Vitor

You'll have to contact HP support and ask them.

I will, but they are off for the weekend and I'd like to get this resolved asap.
