How can I prevent Vista from recovering folders almost every time I start it
? It's drivin'me mad !

You have two options.
a. Go through the somewhat laborious "Reset Windows Mail" process:

or
b. Upgrade to Windows Live Mail:
http://get.live.com/en-us/betas/maildesktop_betas
