Since you said that you had recently installed Win2000, "File Indexing"
is the only thing that comes to mind that would do that. Now if you have
a new Anti-Virus Scanner installed? And it is scanning files? Or
perhaps you don't have Anti-virus software and you have contracted
something or you have downloaded a trojan and you are now sharing the
files on your harddrive with some hacker? Do you have firewall and
Antivirus software installed?
