I would also suggest replacing the hard drive as soon as is pracitical.
Modern hard drives have error correction logic which, when it fails, is a
reliable indication that the drive is on a quick downhill toward full
failure. To be safe I would take this opportunity to replace it while most
of your data is still accessible.
