There are a great many variables in that equation that don't resolve in your
favor.

For one, RC2 to RTM is not a supported upgrade path, so it might work and it
might well leave your hard drive a smoking hole in your computer case.

For another, we don't know what OEM discs are going to look like yet - they
may well only install over a copy of Windows XP or an OS that the OEM
recognizes.

There's just no way to tell if it would work or not. I'd wait.
