The "All Users" folder is ***always*** visible to all
users - this is its purpose!

If you have shortcuts that should be specific to your
own account then you must move them from the
All Users folder to the AndyD folder.

- What do you see when you launch "My Computer" and create
a new icon in your own "Start Menu" folder?
- How do you determine which is your own "Start Menu" folder?

my settings are 'named' Andy If I open my computer and locate C:\Documents
and Settings\Andy\Start Menu\Programs & click on the programs folder the
programs list is different to the one that I actually see when I click on the
start button. If I click on the start button select programs then right click
any program in the menu select properties it tells me that my 'andy' setting
is using the 'all users' settings ie if I open my computer and locate
C:\Documents and Settings\all users\Start Menu\Programs the list is the same
as the one that 'andy' is using. Unlike the 'sarah' setting which if I locate
C:\Documents and Settings\sarah\Start Menu\Programs the list is the same as
the one when you click on the start button select programs then right click
any program in the menu select properties

You did not actually answer either of my questions:

- I don't think you created an icon in your own Start Menu folder.
- You wrote that your profile name is "Andy" but you did not say
how you determined this.

Having this information is important for trouble-shooting. In the
absence of further details I recommend that you do a clean
installation of Windows XP.
