harrier,

How do you launch Explorer app from your shell app?
When I launch explorer.exe on my command line shell image I only see the explorer file window (no Desktop).

Well.. CreateProcess should work.
I do not have that image running here right now and I would probably have to revisit it to confirm the facts I said earlier.
I'll get back to you with some more info later.

Meaning while see if anything helpful for you is in this thread (we basically confirmed some facts there):
