Have you been able to contact anyone at Microsoft with regards to
this.........I have the same issue.

If you didn't specify that the threat be quarantined, the files are
deleted--just as though you had done that yourself at a command prompt.

I've seen no success recovering such files with file recovery utilities, but
those are what I would send you to try--the same recovery utilities that
work if you've accidentally formatted a volume, or deleted files, are what
you should try.

These are not free, but most have a trial mode where they will show you what
they can recover before you choose to pay for them.
