At any point did you change the share settings on the repository folder for
full read-write access?

Hi Mr. Liming,

No I did not even create a share for the repository folder. Is this
required?

John

Yes, the tools setup a read-only share when it should be a read-write - full
access share.

OK, thanks. I'll give it a try between steps 2 and 3.

Do I need all the ECE monthly updates between steps 2 and 4? I've
downloaded all updates from the ECE site from Jun-06 through Dec-07. Also
wondering if I need the archived updates for SP2 dated Dec-04 through
Sep-06?

Regards,
John

1) Un-install XPe studio using Add-Remove Programs. Delete all folders
including repositories.

2) Follow this page for installing the 9 CD's in the correct order,
including language packs:

http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa460087.aspx

3) Install FP2007 from ECE site download.

4) Install Update Rollup 1.0 from ECE site download.

5) Install monthly QFE updates from ECE site download from June-November
2007. I believe FP2007 and Update Rollup 1.0 include all QFE's prior to
June 2007.

6) Install my custom components and componentized hardware drivers.

7) Done.

When I install SP1->SP2->FP2007->UR1 - I don't include any updates. Only
after UR1 and the udpates that follow UR1 should be added.

Thanks for your help Mr. Liming. Everything installed great with your
advice. You were correct, the share on the repositories folder disappeared
for some reason. I shared the folder and UR1.0 installed perfectly.

Regards,
John
