Scott M. Have your experiences shown you that programmers may give the best
computer advice, analysis, and solutions even at the worst of times, for a
PC user? ;~D

Haven't crossed many Network Engineers, Network Administrators, System
Administrators (there are a few I've crossed that do), that end up knowing
an operating system, like Windows as a programmer ends up knowing it.

Not giving excuses, maybe just an observation on why they may end up here,
after all something like, 'microsoft.public.windowsxp.general' would be more
apparent, and easier to find for a usual computer user than,
microsoft.public.dotnet.general, you think? Not? They must end up here for
some reason, agreeing with you totally it's not in the scope of response for
this newsgroup (or posting for that matter).

They are directed by the MSDN website to this newsgroup for every almost
every question.

Like their search engine sends you always to forums where are the same
question as you have. (But very very seldom answers and even more more more
seldom, correct answers)

I know why they are winding up here and it has nothing to do with what a
programmer knows. It's because Microsoft is incorrectly funneling OS
questions to the dotnet.general group.
