XP Pro has some definite advantages, though whether you'll use those
extra features depends on how you use your PC. For home use it's not
nearly as big of an issue as for office use as a lot of the
differences are in how various aspects of networking are handled.

It is 512MB of memory with 32MB being taken by the shared video
integrated onto the system board. If/when you drop an add-in video
card into the system you should get that 32MB back.

If you can find one, my choice would be something like an nVidia
GeForce 6200 or 6600 based card, though I suspect that your system
board has only an AGP slot so that may limit your options somewhat
(most new cards are only available as PCI Express cards). The ATI
9700 and 9600 series are rather dated these days and don't have the
performance or features of some of their newer counterparts.

A video card upgrade will DEFINITELY help WoW a lot. First off it
will free up some memory, second it will free up a lot of memory
bandwidth and thirdly the add-in card will have much better raw video
performance. That's probably the first upgrade you should look at for
this system.

You might want to check www.sis.com to see if there are any driver
updates for your system, those might help with the crashes at least.
Either way, an add-in graphics cards should probably be high on your
"most wanted" list for this computer.
