really, he should be benching like 4200, but he probably hasn't done a
fresh install of windows. 5000+ is reserved for Radeon 9800s, GeForceFX
5900s, and extremely overclocked Radeon 9700s, Lemon

Not so. I have a Radeon 9700 Pro, PIV 3.0c with everything except the DIMM
voltage at default. My minimum 3DBench2K3 is 5100 and I have hit 5200.

No, sorry, but you really don't know what YOU are talking about. I
should have been benching over 5000 and am in fact now benching over
5500 in 3DMark2K3. This IS on an absolutely fresh install of XP Pro.
All it took was a reinstall of the drivers to get me over 5000. Here
is my compure URL: http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k3=909726.
I've seen 9800s getting 6000+. I've even seen some overclocked 9700
Pros up in the 6000 range. Anyway, sorry for the 'tude but it sort of
gets me when I've done my research and people who haven't say I don't
know what I'm talking about. I do. It's really easy to do a
comparison with others running exactly the same hardware. Peas.
