Unless you have a CD to reinstall IE6 from that implies that you think
that you can still connect. Your AppCompat.txt contains version info
that suggests you haven't done much updating. Visiting Windows Update
to do that might be easier.
The cause of random crashes is often incompatible third-party add-ons.
Often the user may not even be aware that they exist. You can temporarily
disable many of them by unchecking
Enable third-party browser extensions (requires restart)
(Options, Advanced tab)
<title>KB298931 - How to Disable Third-Party Tool Bands and Browser Helper Objects</title>
FYI If the error window is the same as the one pictured in this article
<title>KB276550 - Description and Availability of Internet Explorer Error Reporting Tool</title>
then you can click on the <click here> link.
That opens another window which is not depicted by the article
but which contains a section titled Error Signature.
You can capture the text under the Error Signature by dragging
your mouse over it and pressing Ctrl-c to copy the selected text
to your Clipboard. Then you can paste it wherever you want for
documentation and further analysis.
