Actually to prevent problems with browsers,
remove all spaces in folder and file names,
and replace them with underscores.

i.e. Photo_Album
foo_page.htm

I'm using FP 2002.

I have an image with a hotspot that I try to link to www.wpcdurham.org\Photo
Album\foo.htm (for example)

The HTML I get for the Photo Album folder part is Photo%2520Album NOT
Photo%20Album

I can link to the file in question OK when I provide a hyperlink for
selected TEXT, but not when I try to provide a hyperlink for a HOTSPOT.

I know that I could use a folder name with a space, but I'd like to know if
there is any other workaround, some way to prevent the generation of the %25
code.

Thanks -- Sam

Yes, sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't
The classic is bookmarks. FP will let you save bookmarks
with spaces, but they will "never" work in a browser.

Learned it the hard way. Had to go back and edit about
150 of them. 1 at a time, and then reset the bookmark links.
:-(

Thanks Steve. Curious that FP got it right for one kind of hyperlink and
not for another. -- Sam

Doesn't it depend on the browser?

It's bad form, but I think they work on most platforms, even with the
spaces.

If the bookmark is on another page,
it will default to the top of the page.

I think it depends on your browser. While it's bad form to include spaces,
my rig, with win 2000 and ie 6, will follow the named anchor.

I'm not trying to be argumentative, just trying to get it straight.

My rig with 2000 PRO and IE6 won't follow them.
Any bookmark link that ends in #word word will default
to the top of the page when the link is to a different page.
"Same page" bookmarks will work.

Come to think of it, it might be server related to an extent.
The site I had to fix is running on an Apache server running unix
