somewhere on his HD in the recovery files there is the .EXE file that when executed will revert everything back to a state when first purchased.
This also means that you will lose any work/files/programs installed after purchase unless you have saved off the HD.

| Hello.
| We need some help here. My husband purchased a hp computer
| from walmart it had windows xp home addition already
| installed and no disks to reinstall just recovery files
| programes and such on his hard drive. He then upgraded to
| windows xp professional and prefers to go back to the home
| edition. How does he do this? We cannot seem to find a
| windows uninstall and it won't let him restore to an
| earlier time.
| Please help us and we thank you a head of time.
