Yeah, the service packs greatly improve compatibility with each release.
We're on SP4 now, but you should get SP3, it's good and improves
compatibility, there's also a windows program that from MS that is used to
run/install programs with a compatibility layer for the OS you pick. Like
those windows clone programs for linux.
