IMHO latest versions of Firefox 1.5 / Seamonkey 1.0 still
work in Windows 95 / NT4 (Gecko 1.8.0.*)

Windows 95, so bug reports should not be sent back to Mozilla.

IMHO Firefox 2 / SeaMonkey 1.1 (Gecko 1.8.1.*) will also work with
Windows NT4 and 98SE (not sure about 98 (not SE) and 95)

We plan to replace our aging and limiting graphics ("gfx") infrastructure
with the cairo 2D graphics library. The aim of shifting to cairo is to bring
modern, hardware-accelerated 2D graphics capabilities to the whole of
the web, without requiring proprietary plugins or rendering obsolete the
broad and rich set of web authoring techniques developed over the past
decade. This change will have as a side-effect the dropping of support
for Windows versions prior to Windows 2000 (such as Windows 95, 98,
and ME); we believe that this is an appropriate and acceptable cost to
bear in order to overcome the limitations of our current gfx model and
the rendering capabilities exposed to the web.

There are also requests to end support for versions before Windows 2000
already with Firefox 2

appears to me They ended any support
for NT 4 before Firefox 1.04 ??

what a joke; their library already
with FireFox 1.04 does Not make any
standard Windoze calls but instead uses
their @nix graphics that locks up windows..

Point i was soo mad about
(and maybe offbase here)
is while mozilla FireFox is @nix
based; suspect 98 percent of their
downloads are for Win users ..

and then they treat us like Dirt for
using a Win OS .. ????
