Amongst the files in the zip is the registry patch - Works text
Converters.reg. Unzip this file along with the others to the TextConv
folder. Then from Windows Explorer, select and right click this file. One of
the options available at the top of the options list is 'merge'. Click this.
Click 'yes' at the warning message. This will add the extra keys to the
registry that make the converters available to Word. You should then be able
to open your Works documents in Word.

You probably don't want to hear this now, but recent versions of Works can
save in Word document format (file > save as).
