When you do a compile in Access, it should take you to the exact line of
code.

What version of Access are you using, and how are you doing the compile?

the error occurs. This is not helpful when the module contains a large
amount of code. Is there a way to get the compiler to provide the line
number where the error occurs?

Thanks for your help, Douglas. I am using two different versions ---- Excel 97 and Excel 2002. I get the same result in both versions -- the error notice does not go to nor show the line where the error occurred

I compile in the code mode by clicking on debug --- compile

Thank

Cal

You'll probably have more luck asking in a newsgroup related to Excel (they
start microsoft.public.excel: microsoft.public.excel.programming might be
your best choice)

This newsgroup is for questions about using VBA in Access, the database
product that's part of Office Professional.
