If you use the switch you need to use regular Cat 5 cables. If you connect
directly between the 2 computers, you need a cross over cable.
Run the network wizard on the XP machine first and then follow its
instructions to create a disk to run the wizard on the 98 machine.
Be very careful to answer the choices exactly. It works quite well and is
easy to do.
