Hey John,

With a LOT of assumptions, the quick answer is no.

ASP.NET itself doesn't really even provide access to SQL Server. To do so
you wind up writing code that ASP.NET uses, in a language like VB.NET. So
at a core level, the question is moot.

If you more mean whether it's better to access SQL Server from a Web
application vs. a Windows app, the Win app will be more feature rich and
faster as a general rule but more limited as to its distribution. The Web
app will be more widely distributable, but both of these would use the same
stuff to pull data, it's just whare it goes afterward that really has the
impact.

Could you be more specific about what sort of conditions prompt your
question?
