I'll second Gordon's suggestion of crucial.com as the place to purchase
additional memory.
Whether or not it will be of benefit to you depends on your use of the
machine. I find 2GB to be a good point for average users, gamers benefit
with 4GB or more, and autocad and multimedia editing can take advantage of
lots more (6GB+).
